BIOGRAPHY
Jude is a mixed media artist who has been following her artistic muse since childhood. She is the 2009 recipient of the Barbara Smail award and has been a member of 215 College Cooperative Gallery in Burlington, Vermont since its opening in April 2006. Her artwork is held in a number of private collections, and has appeared in Eating Well magazine.
Jude has been an educator for over thirty years. This includes thematic arts based teaching of all curriculum areas as a classroom teacher in public school for grades 1-3, and a similar approach as a preschool classroom teacher for ages 3-5. She has been teaching the arts for the remainder of those thirty plus years in preschools, day cares, public and private elementary classrooms, after school programs, summer camps, and gallery education programs.
Jude’s arts education work with adults includes workshops for parents and teachers focusing both on arts exploration for their own creative discovery, as well as sharing arts ideas for their students and children. She has also taught college level arts education courses.
Jude is currently the Early Arts Coordinator for Burlington City Arts, a position she has held since 1994. In this capacity Jude teaches art to ages 1-5, and presents teacher and parent education workshops for area agencies throughout the state.
Jude has a BA from the University of Vermont with a double major in Elementary Education and Arts Education, and a Masters in Educational Administration.
